ELECTIONS

It has been a few days after the Presidential election and I noticed a couple of interesting items in the data. Barack Obama won this race, but he won it with just a little more votes than George Bush won in his re election bid, and the turnout models came up short.

In 2004, Bush beat John Kerry by winning 62.04 million votes. In 2008, Obama won 62,443 million a gain of only 400,000. In 2004, Kerry garnered 59.028 million votes; John McCain only got 55,386 million.

The Republican candidate for 2012 needs to appeal to national security, economic and social issues.

The Republican party needs to get back to grassroots, they need to get the votes of the young people, and they need to get the votes of the minority groups in the United States.

The Republican party philosophy is the belief that each person is responsible for their own place in our society.

If the GOP wants to win in future national elections, it has to stand for something other than being Democrat Lite. The Republican party needs clarity, and a purpose

President Elect Obama has been know to admire Socialsit Europe and I believe he intends to model the United States after Europe by increasing government’s role in areas like Education and Health Care and paying for it by increasing taxes. When Obama talks about taxes, he talks about them in terms of redistributing wealth to the less fortunate. I want my taxes to go to the building of roads and defending my country, not to sending someone else’s child to college or paying for someone’s elese’s healthcare.
